Problems with Missing Teeth

There are multiple issues that can arise when a tooth or multiple teeth are lost:

  • Shifting teeth
  • Facial sagging
  • Crooked teeth
  • Misaligned bite
  • Tooth decay

If any of these symptoms sound familiar to you, please call our Hunt Valley dental office. We will help you find a restorative treatment that fits your specific needs.

Restorative Dental Care

After a consultation with one of our dental professionals, we will choose a restorative option to revitalize your smile. We will ensure your comfort throughout the treatment process and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Dental Implants

One or more dental implants are used to replace missing teeth. Dental implants consist of a titanium post, abutment, and dental crown. The titanium post is surgically inserted into the jaw bone. During a healing period of 3 to 6 months, the post fuses to the jaw bone for a secure end-result. After this time, we cap off the abutment with a permanent dental crown. Dental crowns blend in with natural teeth.

Dental Bridges

Patients who have several consecutive missing teeth benefit from a dental bridge secured by dental implants or natural teeth. Traditional dental bridges secured with teeth often require dental crowns. Dental impressions will be used to guide this restoration if natural teeth are used to anchor the dental bridge. If not, the implant will act as the anchor.

Dentures

Removable or fixed dentures improve patient’s speech and can even prevent future bone loss. Like dental bridges, dentures may be secured using dental implants. Implant-secured dentures are the best option for patients who have whole arches of missing teeth but don’t want to deal with messy adhesives of removable dentures. Implants provide a more permanent solution when they secure a denture.
