Why Choose Invisalign?

Invisalign aligners reposition the natural teeth without compromising their health or function. You wear each aligner for two weeks. It works by applying the appropriate amount of pressure to each tooth, allowing the teeth to gently shift into proper alignment. Patients can remove their aligners, allowing them to enjoy their favorite foods and perform their daily oral hygiene routine without restriction.

Invisalign is considered a less invasive way to straighten teeth and avoid the complications and unappealing aesthetic that traditional metal braces have to offer. Leaving crooked teeth unaddressed may result in tension headaches, TMJ pain, muscle aches, and other complications. Invisalign can be the discreet, comfortable solution you need to alleviate your symptoms, straighten your smile, and enjoy optimal oral health.

Invisalign What to Expect

Drs. Rafat and Izadi utilize advanced technology and state-of-the-art materials to improve a patient’s smile. Advanced dental technology allows our team to plan a more accurate and precise treatment that is carefully tailored to meet each patient’s unique needs.

By utilizing the iTero Digital Impression system, we can eliminate the need for messy impressions and allow you to receive your aligners faster than ever before. The aligners are created using high-resolution digital impressions, which allows the aligners to fit more comfortably and securely in the mouth.

Invisalign treatment typically takes anywhere from 12-15 months, but it varies depending on a variety of factors. Dr. Izadi and Dr. Rafat will explain all aspects of your care to ensure you are fully informed and comfortable with your treatment.

Caring for Invisalign

The only way Invisalign can do its job properly is if you take good care of the aligners. Rinse them with warm water each time you take them out of your mouth. Never use hot water, as it can warp the material. It prevents bacteria buildup and rinses away saliva.

You should thoroughly clean your aligners at least once daily. Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and non-abrasive toothpaste or mild soap. Abrasive cleaners can damage the aligners, creating little breeding grounds for bacteria growth. At least once a week, soak your aligners in Invisalign cleaner or non-alcoholic mouthwash to eliminate lingering odors and bacteria.

Brushing your teeth well is also essential for Invisalign. It prevents food and bacteria from getting caught between the aligners and the surface of your teeth. If the food and bacteria linger around, you’re at high risk of discoloration or decay.

This is also true of any other staining foods or beverages. Things like coffee, tea, and red wine can all stain your teeth. They can stain your aligners, too. It’s very important to brush your teeth after consuming these items. You should avoid eating or drinking anything but water with the aligners in. If they stain, they’re no longer invisible when you’re wearing them.

You should keep your aligners in their designated case when you’re not wearing them. You can take them out during a meal, set them on a napkin, and throw them out when you’re done. The case is ventilated, ensuring that bacteria buildup doesn’t occur on the aligners. Ensure that you don’t place them in areas where they’ll be exposed to heat or direct sunlight, as this can melt and warp the plastic.

Lastly, handle your aligners with care. Don’t bend or twist them or exert much force or pressure on them. If you notice that the fit of the aligners has changed at all, let us know, as this indicates a problem. Don’t use sharp objects to take out the aligners. Stick to using your fingers.

Invisalign FAQs

How long do I have to wear the aligners each day?

Though the aligners are removable, wear your Invisalign clear aligners for at least 22 hours a day. They should only be taken out when you’re eating or following your oral hygiene routine.

How quickly do teeth move with Invisalign?

While treatment with Invisalign is faster than with traditional braces, it’s still a process. Treatment with Invisalign takes around 12 to 18 months.

What happens after Invisalign treatment is over?

Once your treatment is over and the results are verified, we’ll set you up with an Invisalign retainer. A retainer is essential because it prevents your teeth from reverting back to the state they were before Invisalign.
